The Fourth IGDSS was held at BAM (Bundesanstalt fur Materialforschung und Prufung) in Adlershof, Berlin, a venue that was perfect for lectures, posters and mixing with other delegates.

In total there were 26 oral presentations and 17 Posters, again showing the strength of interest in the technique. Invited lectures were given bu Paul Farnsworth from USA, Nicole Weiher from Germany, and Qian Rong from China.
