The first International Glow Discharge Spectroscopy Symposium aimed at a global audience was held in the beautiful city of Albi, France from 22nd to 27th August 2010 and was timed to coincide with the final meeting of the GLADNET project.

The meeting was centred on the University Jean Francois Champollion and attracted around sixty delegates representing fourteen countries and so was considered a great success, to be repeated in future years.
